Dear Families,
Each year St. Louis Catholic School has a theme and patron saint of focus to celebrate through the school year. The theme is incorporated in student activities, service, classwork, and conversations. The intent is to bring the students, faculty, staff, and parents together with a common faith focal point.
This year's theme, Growing Together in Greatness, aligns with the Diocese of Austin, Office of Catholic Schools theme, Made for Greatness. Our greatness in the eyes of God comes from serving others and being humble.
We will continue the work started last school year to strengthen our school's Catholic identity and grow in our application of the virtue curriculum through the Disciple of Christ, Education in Virtue program and other resources. The virtue program is a living program that is an integral part of who we are, a habit of doing good. Throughout the school year we will explore and research the lives of many saints, but we have selected Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta to be our "focus saint" of the year. She exemplified a patient and virtuous life through her care of the sick and poor. We hope to emulate her mission to share an eternal life with God through humility and devotional care for others.
May we continually be reminded that all we seek to accomplish, is to know God's truth and love through his son, Jesus Christ. On behalf of the faculty and staff of St. Louis Catholic School, we wish each family a wonderful 2024-2025 school year.
Many Blessings,
Gospel of Matthew 23: 11-12
The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
